How to strengthen Alcantara’s digital presence and stand out from competitors in the Chinese market?
Alcantara, a leading Italian brand in materials industry, launched a strategic project aimed at strengthening its brand awareness and fostering authentic connections with local partners and consumers, both in the B2B and B2C sectors. The challenge
The Chinese textile materials market is highly competitive, dominated by both international and local players. Although Alcantara already enjoyed global recognition and had an established presence in China, the brand faced several challenges:
The need to stand out in a dynamic and competitive environment
Adapting brand storytelling to the cultural and communicative expectations of the Chinese audience
Managing a complex digital ecosystem, characterized by its own platforms and rules
Building trust and relevance through authentic content and direct interactions
These factors made it essential to develop a strategy capable of integrating global consistency with targeted localization.
The solution
We developed an omnichannel communication plan by activating and optimizing key Chinese social media platforms, WeChat, REDnote, Douyin, and Weibo.
The strategy also integrated ADV campaigns, aimed at increasing the visibility of collaborations and design projects, while encouraging O2O (online to offline) interaction during events, reaching both end customers and potential partners. Thanks to special initiatives such as the Chinese New Year campaign, the brand further strengthened its connection with the Chinese audience.

Focus: Chinese New Year’s Campaign
We designed and developed a campaign dedicated to the Chinese New Year, centered on the use of Hongbao (Red Packets). This interactive experience allowed users to receive a limited-edition digital red packet, personalized according to their answers, after completing a short quiz on WeChat.
This feature is available only to Weixin accounts registered in China and linked to a local bank. Therefore, this made it possible to integrate a traditional Chinese element, creating an experience aligned with local habits. The localized management of the project proved to be a necessary step to ensure the consistency and effectiveness of the campaign.
